GRADING SYSTEM

 
 

Clinton Junior College grading system operates on a quality-point scale. 
Each semester credits represent the number of credit hours completed with a passing grade. 
However quality points are earned by the determined grade in the course.
Letter grades represent how a student has achieved in each course (s):

A
Excellent  “A” generates four grade-points for each credit hour
B
Above Average “B” generates three grade points for each credit hour.
C
Average  “C” generates two grade points for each credit hour.
D
Below Average  “D” generates one grade point for each credit hour.
I
Incomplete

“I” indicates an incompletion of the course.  Courses can only be postpone
sixweeks into the following term. “I” earns no credit or grade points.  If course 
completion is not accomplished within six weeks the “I” will result into an “F”.

CF
Carry Forward    “CF” a grade will be assigned in a subsequent term.
S
Satisfactory “S” earns no credit hours or grade points.
SC
Satisfactory Completion “SC” earns no credit hours or grade points (CECP Program).
F
Failure   “F” no credit hours earned and zero grade points for each credit hour.
W 
Withdraw  “W” indicates a withdrawn course status and earns no credit hour/grade-points.
TR 
Transfer

“TR” indicates a transfer course and is allowed as College credits earned
at
 other colleges or universities.


Grade Reports

 

Mid-term grade reports will be issued at allotted time on campus for students that have on campus housing.
However, commuters will receive mid-term grades and final grades in the mail. 

 

End of the term grade reports will be mailed to the students within three – four weeks after the end of the term.  Students are encouraged to review their grade reports and report any error to the Registrars office in the main Administration office.  All grade changes need to be completed within a year of the ending date of the semester in which the grade was assigned.

                      

 

Repeating a Course

 

Students that repeat a course here at Clinton Junior College and receives a higher grade in that course
then the course will be calculated into the students overall grade point average.

 

  

Dean’s List

Students who earn 12 or more credit hours and have achieved a 3.00-3.4 on a 4.00 scale.

President ‘s List

 

Students who earn 12 or more credit hours and achieved a 3.50-4.00 on a 4.00 scale.

 

Registration

 

Students are required to register according to the assigned registration schedule for each semester. 

 

Dropping and Adding Courses

 

Students may add or drop courses within the first five days of a semester.

 

Withdrawal from a Course

 

Students may withdraw from a course or courses after the add/drop date until mid-term with a grade of “W”.  Students must obtain a Withdrawal From Class form from the Registrars office.   If a students decides to withdraw from courses after mid-term, instructor determines the grade received.

 

Withdrawal from the College

 

Students wishing to withdraw from the College should first talk over the issue with the Academic Advisor and then complete the Withdrawal form in the Registrars office.

 

Students receiving financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office & Business Office.
